People
can become stressed out when
they feel they don’t have enough
time to get everything done. Many times this can happen
because
they lack time management skills. Evaluate what it is that is
draining your time and change your schedule accordingly.
For
those who keep their emotions inside, it can increase their levels of
stress.
Learn to talk about what it is that’s bothering you
and don’t hold anything in. Just doing this can
help to
make a person feel better.
If
you are already overworked but a co-working is trying to get you to
help them on a project, politely tell them no. It is not
uncommon
for people to want to help others but in doing so sabotage their own
schedule.
Tip 4
– Stay away from people who annoy you
All of us have dealt with people who just annoy us. If you
find
yourself confronted with one of these people, do what you can to stay
away. If you know they go to the market on Thursday evening,
go
any other day of the week.
Tip 5
– Stay away from controversial topics
when talking
We all know people who have tried to convert us to their religion or
their way of thinking on some issue. If confronted with this
situation, you can either tell them you’d prefer not talking
about certain subjects or even excuse yourself from the conversation.
Tip 6
– Stay (or get) healthy
Eating a
healthy
diet, getting plenty of sleep, and regular exercise go
a long way tin
coping with stress.
The better you take care of your
body the better it is able to deal with stress, be it physical or
mental.
Tip 7
– Avoid alcohol
Many people drink alcohol to
cope
with stress. While
a drink or
two with dinner or out with friends isn’t harmful, excessive
drinking can do great damage to the body.
Tip 8
– Talk yourself up
Everyone has had stressful
periods in their life that they have gotten
through. Remind yourself of yours and tell yourself how
successful you were at coping. Tell yourself that you will be
fine and will get through this episode just as well.
Tip 9 - Talk
to others
Everyone has a friend or relative who would gladly lend an
ear.
Talking about anything stressful in life can help to let it out and
allow us to get over it.
Tip 10
– Keep a journal
Keeping a journal can help in a couple of ways. If you are
unable
to talk to someone right away you can write about the
situation.
Writing is also a form of release that can help to let stress
out. A journal can also be used to record what your personal
stressors are and help you to avoid those stressors in the future.
